The original Plia Folding Chair was designed by Giancarlo Piretti for the label Castelli in the year 1967 and is an award-winning design classic.
With the Plia Folding Chair the Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti made design history! Its development of the 3-layer-joint with a smart, flat folding mechanism paved the way for this transparent folding chair by Castelli to become an international icon.
The Castelli folding chair features a chrome-plated steeltube frame, as well as a back and seat made of Cellidor plastic. Plia is about 51 cm wide, 76 cm high, and 48 cm deep. The seat height measures 43 cm. For the available versions of this design classic please see the “available product types”.
